#FashionGlobeTrotter Mustard & Ketchup

This is my second year in a row attending the big leagues of fashion aka Paris Fashion Week (I’m sure not even Alex Rodríguez would be up for this game). If there’s one show that always moves me and brings kind of tears to my eyes is the Louis Vuitton show (I hope those were some LV branded tears at least); this year Nico Ghésquiere –the one’s closet to always call him Nico, hello!- decided to show his SS15 at the mint new Fondation Louis Vuitton, a building that seriously has got to be one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture that I’ve ever seen. Obviously, once I knew I was invited to this show all I could think was “what the fuck am I gonna wear?”, I needed something fashion-forward yet sensible and nonchalant, something that could let other dream but not fall asleep, and something that could translate well in Street-style pictures (I mean duh! You gotta milk the cow if you want to make it into Le21éme!), luckily for me, while I was in London I met the work of the amazing Edeline Lee, a designer that knows all about showstoppig-comfortable-edgy designs. Before it was too late –it is never too late- here’s the head-to-ankle look from her SS15 collection shown at Somerset House London; hope you like it, and if you don’t, well it is yours to miss :D

Random Encounters - Chasing Pavements

There’s nothing a streetstyle photographer loves more than a couple of well-dressed humans and a street to be crossed.

#NYFWSS15 BCBG Spring/Summer

¡Domo arigato Mr. Roboto!

In a recent article written for the magazine that I edit (@GOGOmagazine), I made a statement about this season’s trends, which were translated far away from fabrics and got right to the core of just one word: carefree.

No, I’m not talking about women’s maxi pads, I’m referring to the same feeling you get when you’re happy in your own skin, or when you’re hungover & you just don’t care about anything. This same feeling was adopted by Lubov Azria at BCBGMaxAzria, a collection inspired by timeless elegance and nonchalant, bohemian silhouettes and a chromatic experience given by a revolutionizing concept called Color Reform, whose philosophy affirms that each color is blessed with inherent energies, that worked through an specific color palette can transform mere chromatic imagery into an experience, quite cool, huh?

Fluid drape dresses and layered cascades of sheer fabrics were offset by structured and quilted pieces; stellar exits were manifested by alabaster cotton sleeveless dresses cinched with family-related quilted stitched obi belts, a white menswear top with a cotton mesh embroidered top gave a layering option that is no longer avoidable for spring daze and silk A-line dresses donned a more feminine flair; but the real stars were the tapestry and abstract floral prints in cream hydrangeas and light haze scarf prints, which soft as a majestic Japanese watercolor left me saying “domo arigato Mr. Roboto”.

Random Encounters - West 15th Street, New York

I’ve been kind of away for a bit because I am literally trotting around the world; right now I’m in Milano for #MFW and I am loving this city, while I haven’t been that out (not in the queer sense) that much due to the huge amount of work I have with the magazine, I’ve decided that today will be the day to enjoy Italy (and Italians ;).

Here is one of the many many many many (I can do on and on) shots I’ve made throughout my #FashionGlobeTrotter trip, I took it outside Milk Studios right before the Costello Tagliapietra show. Be sure to keep an eye on the blog and my Instagram (@MCQUEENISMYPAPI) to take an insiders look of all the fashion events and all the posts, which I assure you will keep you entertained for at least a whole year.

2014

Above you will see the video that I collaborated with Red Bull, in it we documented the most of my month-long trip to some of the world’s fashion capitals to report to everyone through my social media outlets the best of every Fashion Week.

En resumen, 2013 you fucking rocked my boat!

BOOM!

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

It could be even a statement to say that most of us are very done with the “Goodbye 2013...” epidemic that recently took over every single social media outlet. While some of them were pretty fucking annoying, others were very accurate in expressing the caresses of passing from one year to the next one.

Then, it could be an understatement to say that I’ve been away from the blog a little bit. Having said that I have my reasons. At the beginnings of December I was stricken by a constant pain that was recently diagnosed as gallstones, which left me with no energies whatsoever, I couldn’t even make it to the desk, all I did during Christmas was recovering and reading, not even one ounce of alcohol.

Now that I feel so much better I have concocted a very special letter the year we just left behind:

Dear 2013, by all means I am going to avoid any tenderness and pussyness due to the fact that I’m a total macho-man and that all hints of weakness are not even included in my book. With that clear I just want to highlight how special you were to me; thanks to you I met so many new and interesting people, far-away places that I had only dreamt of and new experiences that are now written in my book of life.

You were my faithful companion in the MTA subway while I made my way to the SS14 fashion show and in those moments when I was too drunk to text you were the one that got me a taxicab so I could go weep to my friend’s house; you held my hand in those crazy Madrid nights when a guy showed me his dick and I just freaked out, let’s just say I wasn’t prepared for that; now I am madly in love with that city, not because of the dick, but because of its magnetic magic; you healed me when I broke my eyebrow while drunk-dancing in Barcelona (just kidding, the last thing I remember was my friend Andy pouring vodka on my face to cure the thing); and you were there when I cried like a baby because I finally made my dream of meeting face-to-face with Paris true.

2013, you were the first one that was with me when I attended WWD MAGIC/FN PLATFORM as the official blogger from Panama. Thanks to you I learned one million and a hundred things, which were then graciously (here comes the ego) shared through this amazing blog that God & Madonna created. Most importantly, in this year I finished all of my college-required subjects, all I need is to wait in order to be a graduated boy.

All in all dear 2013, you fucking rocked my boat!

Now onto 2014.

All I’m gonna say is that I have just one word that will describe the way I’m gonna take this year: daring. Starting the year with a new job I’m gonna be telling you of later.

For the moment this is only a “see-ya”. BOOM!
