Veronica Angel's Living Rhythm

If there’s one thing that Veronica Ángel knows how to do is to design clothes with energy. Being the third collection she presents to the Panamanian market, Veronica has demonstrated growth and persistence, two important things when you’re building an identity as a designer.

Titled “Living Rhythms”, the collection kept the Veronica Ángel silhouette she works so much on: XXI century shift dresses, that this time were deconstructed by different printed panels often seen also in long dresses like the one modeled by Karina Pinilla; metallic lace dresses showed a more mature and elevated angle to design and pattern making, fitted so well to the model’s body it looked like an sculpture more than a dress; the mischief and flirt of fringes of colorful beads that danced to the rhythm.

Accessories were part of a collaboration between Angel and Venezuelan designer Mariawal from Doble V: necklaces with Druzy stones, pearled bracelets and a series of wishbone earrings were the perfect complement to what can be Veronica´s best collection thus far; I guess it’s true two minds are better than one.

#FashionGlobeTrotter Mustard & Ketchup

This is my second year in a row attending the big leagues of fashion aka Paris Fashion Week (I’m sure not even Alex Rodríguez would be up for this game). If there’s one show that always moves me and brings kind of tears to my eyes is the Louis Vuitton show (I hope those were some LV branded tears at least); this year Nico Ghésquiere –the one’s closet to always call him Nico, hello!- decided to show his SS15 at the mint new Fondation Louis Vuitton, a building that seriously has got to be one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture that I’ve ever seen. Obviously, once I knew I was invited to this show all I could think was “what the fuck am I gonna wear?”, I needed something fashion-forward yet sensible and nonchalant, something that could let other dream but not fall asleep, and something that could translate well in Street-style pictures (I mean duh! You gotta milk the cow if you want to make it into Le21éme!), luckily for me, while I was in London I met the work of the amazing Edeline Lee, a designer that knows all about showstoppig-comfortable-edgy designs. Before it was too late –it is never too late- here’s the head-to-ankle look from her SS15 collection shown at Somerset House London; hope you like it, and if you don’t, well it is yours to miss :D

Paola Cantagalli FWPTY 2012 (Day 1)

To say that this was my favorite collection made by a national designer would totally be an understatement. It was so delightful to get a tiny glimpse of it with the invitation, get hooked & then enjoy a collection which I can say was the most upgraded & international looking of them all. It had a concept (modernity, urban feeling & architectural lines) and you could see it in every piece, wether it was in a dart, a peplum or simply in the blocking of black & white.

Another thing that captured me was the designer's evolution & the well management of the brand, I say this because last year she presented a collection that was completely inspired in a yacht trip to Capri, a collection that was purely resort & cocktail categorized.

These days, Paola achieved to show another side of her range as fashion designer, this collection showed her talent doing modern femininity, versatile pieces that can be used for work & for after hours events, a 360 degrees change that still had the "Paola Cantagalli" label spread all over it.

The detailing is meticulous & the combination of fabrics & mesh is sexy yet elegant, the use of Swarovskis crystals shone the clothes in a different light, a light where Paola steps into the front line as one of the strongest talents in the new generation of panamanian fashion designers.  Be sure to check our Facebook Fan Page because we will be uploading the pictures from her Trunk Show with close ups of the pieces.

Sometimes you don't have to overact & stuff things to make them beautiful, simplicity can be the most elegant thing.

IAN for ConversePTY

Converse asked me to go on a quest of people that had that a Converse vibe while I was in New York, thanks to my dear Ana Melissa I found the perfect ones, here’s the first of them.

Name: Ian Holubiak.

Age: 22 years old.

Profession: I am the guitarist, singer, songwriter, and harmonica player for my indie folk band Wooly & the Mammoth.

How does Converse fit you lifestyle? I have been wearing Converse since I was in middle school. When I was younger, my style centered around Converse. The monochromatic black kicks that I had were a pair of shoes I felt were essential to my identity as being a part of the alternative. Now, the shoes serve as both my athletic apparel for when I have down time from the band as well as a pair of shoes that aren't merely sneakers but a vehicle for wherever my music takes me.

Tombstone Blues by Bob Dylan
Montana by Youth Lagoon
Teenage Color by College
Revelation Blues by The Tallest Man On Earth

Cómo Converse complementa tu estilo de vida? He usado Converse practicamente toda mi vida.
