Cheers to the Freakin' Weekend! #MoetMoment

A couple of days ago I was invited to spend literally the best Saturday ever during the #MoetPartyDay.

Now, what’s a #MoetPartyDay?

It’s a worldwide celebration – from New Zealand to Panamá – and we honored it in open waters. We were almost twenty lucky guests to sail for a whole day in a catamaran filled with Moët & Chandon champagne, the one Marina & the Diamonds calls “fabricated wealth”.

Not looking to get into the details for the simple reason that I do not remember’em much – in case you didn’t know, drinking is my favorite verb. What I do remember is how great the experience was, there was a moment when five other yachts gathered around us and it was a full-blown party – Project X On The Seas. On top of that, my birthday was two days after this and I obvs partied the fuck out of that catamaran.

What I wanna know now is, which are those special moments you like to celebrate with a bottle of Moët? What are you #MoetMoments?

Do you remember a couple of months ago when CHANEL announced its latest iconic bag? Well, the CHANEL “Gabrielle” bag now has its own mystery to add up to the French maison.

Directed by the Australian Daniel Askill, this first shortfilm out of the four stars Kristen Stewart, who frantically enters an open space, as if taken over by the spirit of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. It’s a mysterious yet exuberant 2.10 minutes film that has left me anxious to see the others which will be released in the upcoming days.

Traveling Through Time

Every time I grab my camera it’s like I travel through time. I know, photography is literally freezing time into space, into film, but each time I prepare to take a photo – while I frame, while I think about shutter speed and aperture – everything that surrounds me becomes irrelevant, it’s just me and the subject, astray in a limbo without space and time… until the image is finally captured by the sensor and the world continues its course.

It may sound extra cliché but being a photographer is an everyday adventure.

Chanel SS15 is here!

A few days ago we all got together at the Chanel Mansion to welcome the spring/summer 2015 collection, the same collection I got the pleasure to experience last September at the fashion show inside the walls of the Grand Palais in Paris; here are some of the collection details that I loved the most.

The Boy With The Pearl Necklace

////////////////////////////////////////

A couple of years ago, while studying my MBA in Photography, the Art History teacher told us to write a paper of Peter Webber’s movie Girl with a Pearl Earring with Colin Firth and Scarlett Johansson, I still remember how in love I fell with that movie, the art direction, the acting of these two stars, the dialogues, everything is so compelling you should see it to believe it. It’s so brilliant to see how a director re-interpreted the story behind such an iconic portrait in Modern Age –specifically the Baroque.

This same portrait was the one that came to my mind when I saw the Spring/Summer 2014 Chanel show in Paris, same collection that was also inspired in the art of living and the living of an artist; now everything I wear this amazing necklace I picture myself as the modern version of that classic oil on canvas, the only thing is that instead of fabric this portrait uses my blog as support :D
