Off To The Polo Tournament...

El verano panameño es fácil de disfrutar de mil y un maneras. Es cierto que en este país disfrutamos de un clima quasi-veraniego durante todo el año pero solo es durante esta época del año que disfrutamos de la brisa innegable, de los atardeceres más bellos y de los eventos al aire libre con open bar ;)

Normalmente la agenda social panameña incluye festivales musicales, culturales, exposiciones de arte, etc., pero esta vez un evento muy no tradicional en nuestro país se llevó la atención de muchos: el Millenia Polo Tournament by Hackett London.

No ajeno al Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic que se celebra en Manhattan comencé a buscar en mi clóset de manera de no tener un sartorial faux-pas, creo que me fue bien, sobre todo porque al día siguiente no había ni seña de la señorita llamada “Resaca”;)

In vino veritas, PTY’s summer is easy to enjoy. You may say “Hey dude, you have summer all year long” but it’s only during these days of the years when you can lean back and feel the breeze caress your unclog pores while you stare at the most beautiful sunsets, all featuring the most exciting open bars in town.

Normally, the Panamanian social agenda includes everything from music festival, film screening in public places, art exhibits, cultural momentums, etc., but this year an event stole a lot of the spotlight for being the perfect getaway for the chic-seekers and culturally hunger: the Millenia Polo Tournament by Hackett London.

Used to see the celebrities and socialites attend the everlasting-oh-so-chic Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic that’s held at Manhattan I started searching for outfit inspiration in order to not commit a sartorial faux-pas; I think I did well, at least my not so dear friend, Hangover, didn’t make an appearance the next day ;)

Suit & Sparkle

Suit & Pantalón/Suit & Pants [Express] Camisa/Shirt [Zara] Cinturón/Belt [Dockers] Zapatillas/Sneakers [Adidas Originals] Perfume/Fragrance [Polo Ralph Lauren’s RED]

Una de las razones por las que un hombre usa un suit es por: ya sea se esta casando, porque es un hombre de negocios o porque vende verduras en el semáforo del Dorado (créanme, el solo hecho de que tiene puesto un saco me hace considerar comprarle las verduras).

Y es que hay algo poderoso en un hombre en saco y pantalón. Recuerdo cuando era más joven y decía que jamás sería un man de saco y corbata pero ahora, a mis 21, me he podido dar cuenta de lo imponente que uno se siente al usar un saco, me imagino que se compara cuando las mujeres usan unos tacones espectaculares o tal vez un vestido de gala.

Con todo eso dicho, quiero contarles que comencé a trabajar en un proyecto súper interesante del que les estaré contando más adelante, proyecto que incluye reuniones de negocio, por lo que a veces me tocará usar saco, pero buscando siempre una forma de salpicarle escarcha a lo que me pongo pensé en formas de hacer un suit mucho más interesante ¿qué dicen de lo que se me ocurrió?

A man wears a suit for several reasons: whether he is a businessman, a groom or in some cases, like in Panama, you sell vegetables on the Street when the traffic lights are red (trust me, just because the guy’s wearing a suit has made me consider buying him my veggies).

In conclusion, there’s something about suits that make you feel on top of the world. I remember when I was very young (I think this is a Madonna lyrics) I said to myself that I would never be a suit-and-tie type of guy and that I would never use watches that didn’t involve cartoons nor childish motives; well here I am, 21 years old and loving the elegance of a suit.

Now you may wonder why the fuck I am wearing a suit in the middle of the sun, the reason is that I started working at a new exciting job which I’ll later explain; the job may involve some business meetings et al., so I wanted to figure out how to add some sparkle to a gray suit, here’s what came out, whatcha think?

En honor a todos los que teníamos mamás que nos rellenaban el clóset de bolsas de Poppys y a las siempre chic hermanas Tanner de Full House aquí les va el primero de dos posts dedicados a esa pieza a la que muchos le temen pero pocos se atreven: los overalls.

In honor of all of the people who had mothers who filled up our closets with bags from Poppys, not to mention the Tanner sisters from Full House here’s the first of two posts dedicated to that item that many fear but few dare to face: the overalls.  

Estas son en serio mis zapatillas favoritas ahorita mismo, los colores son lo máximo!
