My Style Journal: Chapter #3

........................................................................

“How do women keep their journals updated?”, I have asked myself since I was a teenager who was into reggeaton (I blame my classmates for my poor life choices and deplorable music taste). Even during those years I always struggled (the struggle has always been real) to keep my life focused in paper, it didn’t matter if it was an actual diary or just a multi-subject notebook that my mom bought me for school.

Now, after 6 years, I keep asking myself the same BS, “how do girls manage to always have time to write down their sorrows and one night stands in their journals!?”; I haven’t been answered.

So now, in this new tryout to keep My Style Journal alive, I share with y’all my April 24th; a day that was pretty fucking hectic but at the same time fortuitous thanks to three main ingredients that send the PowerPuff Girls formula to bite the dust: good friends, Chanel and drinks.

Bohemian Rhapsody

.................................................................

Last week was fucking crazy. Amidst the closing of my May issue of GOGO Magazine I had to somehow distort my persona into a billion fragments in order to attend all of the events that took place all over the hot-as-fuck and –traffic-jam-clogged City of Panama.

One thing life has taught me dearly is to always strive for flawlessness (Beyonce is also to blame); of course there are days you may feel like shit for so many reasons: you car is out of gas, your “happy days” have knocked your door or even herpes (you never know!), but you HAVE to always look as if you were on your way to meet the love of your life, or even a potential fuckbuddy (who will later give you herpes). “Expensive” is always the look.

In order to get this there’s always an ally: sequins. Although these are kind of stigmatized as “forever cliché” for Panamanian girls (and guys), there is no fucking problem in looking like JLo; what is no bueno is to ALWAYS look like LaLopez, sometimes you need to take a break from the latin bombshell and maybe go for an attire that tilts more to the glam-rock side, think about Hedwig and the Angry Inch (which coincidentally just slayed the fuckin Tony nominations earlier today).

Whatever you do try to always do a cleans of your outfit, pay attention to textures, and never over-do-it, you don’t want to end up being confused with JLo’s Christmas tree.
