Montmartre Dans Mon Coeur

He finalmente regresado a la realidad. Si les soy completamente sincero, extrañaba mucho Panamá, no se porqué pero estaba muy emocionado de volver a casa y re-iniciar la rutina de trabajo, de ejercicio y a hacer lo que me gusta.

Sin embargo, por primera vez tuve la oportunidad de experimentar Paris como si fuera un local –tener mi propio apartamento, ir al supermercado, comprar flores para el comedor y todo lo demás que conlleva ser adulto- y no lo podría extrañar más.

En mi último día una amiga me llevó a Montmartre (¿pueden creer que este es mi tercer año allá y nunca había visitado este barrio?), y con todo y que queda medio distante del centro me enamoré perdidamente de sus calles bohemias y llenas de vida, de la felicidad que irradia su gente y obvio, de los vintage shops que abundan.

Este trench-coat por ejemplo, lo compré en Chine Machine (100 Rue des Martyrs), minutos antes de haber tomado estas fotos y siento que es una de las mejores compras que he hecho en uno de mis viajes, una vez más Paris no deja de sorprenderme.

I’m home at last. But I’m completely honest, I missed Panama so much, I don’t even know why but I was really excited to come back home to my routine at the magazine, at the gym and just to nail what I like to do.

Nonetheless, Paris this year was a completely different experience from other years. I got t olive it as a local -I rented my own apartment so I had to do the groceries, cook, buy flowers to arrange the dining room and all the things that adults- and that’s what I miss the most.

On my last day a friend of mine took me to Montmartre (can you believe this is my third year in Paris and I’ve never gone to this part of the city!?) and I fell in love with its bohemian je ne sais quoi, the happiness that shines in the people who live there and obviously, with the vintage shops that abound.

Actually, this trench-coat was bought at Chine Machine (100 Rue des Martyrs) just minutes before we took these photos, definitely one of the best finds I’ve had in one of my trips; once again, Paris never let’s me down.

Esta temporada no estoy sintiendo mucho el street-style, siento que ahora si se ha prostituido hasta el Paris, ciudad que antes para mí se había mantenido virgen de esta vorágine.

Por eso he estado más inclinado a classic portrait afuera de los shows, siento que tienen más conexión y magia que el simple shot de mujeres bellamente vestidas cruzando la calle.

This season I am really not feeling the street-style, I feel like it has reached a point where its prostitution had found a dead-end street even in Paris –a city that I considered virgin from this whirlwind.

For that reason I’m leaning towards more classic portraits like this. I love how they evoke much more than the we-have-all-seen shot of the expensively dressed woman who looks like “she doesn’t care” but obviously spent hours planning her outfit.

Harper's Bazaar x MAC Cosmetics: #LatinsInParis

Ya para estas alturas las millas entre New York, Londres, Milan y Paris comienzan a pasar factura a todo el fashion crowd, pero no es lo mismo cuando hablamos de nosotros los latinos.

Con sangre caliente y con siempre ganas de fiesta Harper’s Bazaar y MAC Cosmetics decidieron celebrar ese sabor y alma alegre en un soirée en la residencia del embajador de México en Paris. Caras conocidas por todos lados, champaña y cocteles especiales fueron la mejor fórmula para ponernos a todos a tope.

Puede que en Paris haga un poquito de frío pero el calor siempre lo llevamos muy adentrito ;)

By this time it’s very probable that all of the miles between New York, London, Milan and Paris start to take a toll on us fashion people, but there’s a big difference when we talk about Latins.

Warm-blooded and always in the mood for a good party, Harper’s Bazaar and MAC Cosmetics decided to celebrate this spirit at the residence of the Mexican ambassador in Paris. Known faces everywhere, the usual "vérre du champagne" and special cocktails formulated the perfect combination for a night to remember.

It may "fait froid" in Paris, but the Latin warmth will always be indisputable ;)
