There’s probable just one way to know if you are a heavyweight in the world of fashion. An invitation to the Met Gala it is. Last year we celebrated the Savage Beauty of the work of one of the biggest geniuses we’ve had in fashion, Lee McQueen.

2012 was a year of the female power. The queens of the exhibition are Elsa Schiaparelli & Miuccia Prada, two individuals that shared two obsessions, beauty & how it impacted the lives of women.

As you may know, the Met Gala is like the best night in all of the fashion calendar, here you HAVE to dare to really have fun with the clothes since it’s such a magical night.

So, I decided to organize a boxing match between two trends that were seen last night, it’s up to you to choose the winner! In the left corner we have The Golden Girls, leaded by the woman of the night, Miuccia Prada, followed by Carey Mulligan in custom made Prada, Mad Men’s new gal pal Jessica Pare, Bianca Brandolini, Donatella “va-va-voom” Versace, BG’s Linda Fargo in personalized Naeen Khan, Leighton Meester in Marchesa, DRee Hemingway in Topshop & whole battalion of golden sirens.

On the other corner we have The Exhibitionists Black Dahlias whose leader is none other than Uncle Marc, Marion Cotillard & The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Rooney Mara, followed by Beyonce, Renee Zelllweger in Emilio Pucci, Chloe Sevigny in Miu Miu, Vogue’s former fashion news editor Sally Singer in Nina Ricci.

There were also girls that were in the audience, watching the match but obviously in synch with some ongoing trends. Peplum Gals: Elizabeth Banks in Mary Katrantzou (do not try that at home), Eva Mendes in Prada, Diana Agron in Carolina Herrera, Solange Knowles in Rachel Roy, Emma Roberts in Escada, January Jones in Atelier Versace, Sofia Vergara in Marchesa & last but not least, Jessica Stam in Dior.

Finally, there is the 5KM Legs Team. While Angelina is busy arranging her wedding these girls are disrupting public order by showing those impressive legs (& in one case, much more). Anja Rubik took the thing to the extreme in Anthony Vaccarello, one of the Clarins girls in Mugler, Jenna Courtin-Clarins, Liv Tyler in Givenchy, Lea Michele in DVF, Elettra Wiedemann in Sophie Theallet, Carine Roitfeld in Givenchy Couture & last but def not least, red carper queen, Gisele Bundchen.

So, in your opinion, which team was really feeling the Met Gala?

Duran Duran - Girl Panic!

I just felt the urge to post this. This is just MAJOR, MAJOR MAJOR! This is the perfect type of menage a trois between fashion, film & music. Besides, Duran Duran is one of the old bands that I like the most & as a Madonna devote, Jonas Akerlund has earned himself the place of my favorite music video director (he also directed the whole Confessions Tour DVD which is my favorite tour ever made).

Hello fellas! Hope you had a great Halloween, I was grounded so my only way

to fete it was with a movie marathon of bloody flicks. 

Aside from that I'm pretty excited about the upcoming weeks.

If you are into fashion you MUST know what FNO is & if you don't  you'd better

start considering other fields, cause this is not for you. Well, FNO has been une reussite totale around the globe! & here in Panama we couldn't be left behind.

That's why Status Magazine has stepped up to the plate & has been organizing our very first version of Status Fashion Night, which will work exactly like FNO does, the only difference is that instead of being celebrated outdoors, we are doing it inside a mall, which I think will concentrate more the excitement & the people obviously.

It will take place in Multiplaza, our best mall here. November 15th, a soiree that will be held by more than 40 stores that will surely knock it out of the park, so consider it a date you won't like to miss!

'cause if they were I'd put even the same music)

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did

it was extremely emotional for me

in the middle of the route I just knelt

to cry, it was just too sublime.

de la exhibición, ésto es para que sientan 

como si estuvieran dentro de la misma

espero que disfruten de todo tanto como yo

lo hice, para mi fue algo extremadamente

emocional, tanto que en la mitad de todo

sentí la obligación de agacharme a llorar,

algo demasiado sublime, dificilísimo de evitar.

A Ball to remember…

I think this is the day all fashionista is waiting for the whole year. The Super Bowl of the fashion world.

Since we are celebrating Alexander McQueen this gala was meant to be pure extravaganza, show stopping dresses

& gowns walked the red stairs, stairs that lead the path to the exhibition, the one I’ve been talking about

all year & the one I’ll be enjoying this Thursday ( not bragging, just superb happy :D ). I have to pack everything

my flight leaves at 10.25 & haven’t even selected the pieces I’ll be taking, & I will have to be very very

picky now, I want to shop like a maniac.

Now back to the Gala, these are the looks that surprised me, the looks that haunt me, the looks that

I’d die to have:

Para mi el MET Ball es como el mundial de fútbol pero en el mundo de la moda, es la gala a la cual todos van

para impresionar (si no me creen solamente checkeen las galas anteriores, especialmente la que tenía a los

superheroes como tema). Desde Madonna hasta Rihanna (las –nnas son las más fabulosas), desde Karle Kloss

hasta Raquel Zimmermann, todo el mundo espera el MET Ball.

Este año el tema principal fue Savage Beauty, título que también tiene la exhibición que se celebraba, en honor

a Lee McQueen (si no saben de que hablo debe ser porque me visitan por primera vez, he estado hablando de

eso toodo el año).

Y por cierto, estén atentos porque voy a esta exhibición y claro que tomaré fotos para todos ustedes :)

Como se que lo que ustedes quieren es ver y no leer, me callo y aqui van los vestidos y las personas más fabulosas

Mcqueen's Memorials Service

“There was no comfort zone with Alexander McQueen,” said Anna Wintour during her address at the designer’s memorial service in London this morning. But you’d imagine that even someone as intractable as Lee McQueen would be able to draw some succor—spiritual at least—from the chilly magnificence of St. Paul’s Cathedral, the venue for the event. If your soul didn’t soar when organist Donald Hunt sent Barber’s Adagio for Stringsswelling into the cathedral’s mighty dome, maybe you haven’t got one.

There were plenty more soul-stirring moments, from the poignant memories of McQueen’s close friends Annabel Nielsen and Shaun Leane, to Michael Nyman’s performance of his theme from The Piano, to the London Community Gospel Choir’s exultant “Amazing Grace.” But nothing could match the perversely pulse-quickening (we were in church, after all) impact of Björk’s elegantly spare rendition of Billie Holliday’s “Gloomy Sunday.” She was dressed in a McQueen flight of fancy, the wooden wings from “13,” his unforgettable girl-and-the-robot show. Among the many others in the 1,500-strong crowd wearing the designer’s clothes, Naomi Campbell and Daphne Guinness (pictured) were especially striking.

Sam Gainsbury, who produced all of McQueen’s epics, also produced this sendoff. Her years of experience with the boy genius paid off in a service whose solemnity and ritual—right down to the solitary piper playing Braveheart at memorial’s end—would’ve pleased the designer. “But where was the punch-up?” Gainsbury wondered later. “There wasalways a punch-up.” Not in this cathedral.

I can't even describe how much Harry Potter means to me, it's something beyond the physical world, Harry Potter equals hours of reading during recess in elementary school, it means something HUGE for me. It's so sad to know that it has come to an end. This trailer took my breath away.
