Branding

Branding has always been a subject of my interest. How
brands like Chanel, COS, Loewe, Guess, etc. have been capable of establishing
their business thanks to the power of a name amidst all the competitiveness of
today’s global market is something worth admiring. But the task of thinking of
the same caliber of examples but in the Latin-American plethora of design is kind
of tricky when all of the names that may come to your mind are the like of : Carolina Herrera, Ángel Sánchez, Rolando Santana or even Mexican newcomer
MANDCANDY, thankfully, in this new PROFILE you will be introduced to one of
the best examples of Latin-American design I’ve ever met.
Pineda Covalín was created 17 years ago by Cristina
Pineda and Ricardo Covalín; a brand whose evolution is so admirable as is the
woman I had the pleasure to chat with and who you will get to know in the
next few paragraphs.
