#RadarNoir/ Malaika

Quiero comenzar la semana con una nueva sección en el blog, ésta se llama #RadarNoir y en ella me encargaré de traerle nuevos y curiosos lugares para comprar, comer, entretenerse, tomar, _______________ (inserta tú el verbo que desees), etc.

Para comenzar entonces me fui a Malaika, un nuevo concepto aquí en Panamá para cuando queremos comprar joyería y bisutería de una super buena calidad y con unos diseños tanto eclécticos como clásicos.

I want to start this week with a new section in the blog, it is called #RadarNoir & it is basically a section where I’ll bring you the best new places to shop, eat, drink, have fun, ________________ (fill in the blank with the verb of your preference), etc.

As my first #RadarNoir post I visited Malaika, a super hip new jewelry & bijoux shop.

Melina Typaldos FWPTY 2012 (Day 1)

Despite my hatred towards fashion shows for les joaillerie et les bijoux  I enjoyed this one for the first time in my life. 

Jewelry should be shown exclusively through fashion presentations, where the clients, the press are actually able to the see piece up close, you will never ever accomplish that through a fashion show, where the one that's sitting in 5th row will never appreciate the stones.

Aside from that, Melina showed a new array of accessories this year, some of them were super duper cute (talking about the skull one, OBSESSED!), on the downside, those skirts the models were wearing were hideous but they were totally out shined by how chic the designer looked in the finale, loved it.

Dejando atrás el gran odio que le tengo a los fashion shows de joyería y bisutería (en serio, el que esta en 5ta fila jamás podrá apreciar las piezas) puedo decir que por primera vez en mi vida disfrute éste.

Con un nuevo arsenal de accesorios de verdad que logró captar mi atención en una manera super positiva (háblenme de esos clutches con calaveritas!), en el lado feo, las faldas, nono. Pero nada pudo superar a lo chic que se veía Melina en la final, j'aime!

Oh Tiffany! Diamonds are definitely a girls (and some boys) best friend!

Tiffany & Co. 3 palabras que más que palabras representan toda una herencia americana de lujo y distinción. Este jueves era la tarde exclusiva para fashion bloggers en la tienda de Tiffany (excelente iniciativa, otras tiendas y marcas deberían seguir este ejemplo, ¿no creen?). Después de un largo día en la universidad me fui directo a Multiplaza, en medio del tranque y el caos que hay en Panamá cerca de las 4 de la tarde. 

Pero no sólo mis amigos bloggers (Gina Prestán, Rosa, Caro, Olguita, Luis & Maristella) me esperaban, hasta conocí a otra fashion blogger, Liz. Habían cocktailes turquesa, boquitas y la mejor compañía. Lo mejor de todo fue que nos dieron un tour completo por la tienda, mientras que nos explicaban de primera mano detalles de la compañía, nos probabamos las joyas y nos explicaban la historia y los comienzos de Tiffany & Co. de manos de Charles L. Tiffany & Teddy Young. 

Como tengo una cantidad inmensa de información para compartir con ustedes voy a dividir la "experiencia Tiffany" en dos post, bien saben que me encanta hablar y no quiero que se me cansen, en esta les mostraré las fotos que tome y uno que otro pie de foto. Disfruten :)

Tiffany & Co. 3 words that represent a whole american heritage of luxury & distinction. This past Thursday I was invited to an exclusive cocktail thrown by the brand just for fashion bloggers (how cool right!? More brands & stores should definitely follow this initiative). So after a long day of classes at the university I went straight to the mall, in the middle of all the traffic & chaos that is driving us all crazy.

It was so nice that all my friends were there (Gina Prestán, Rosa, Caro, Olguita, Luis & Maristella), I event met another blogger, Liz. So, turquoise martinis & gourmet starters were already waiting for me at the entrance, but what I liked the most was the amazing tour they gave us, explaining all the details about the company, getting an exclusive look at the new collections and having the chance to try on all the jewels we wanted was totally priceless. I learned so much about the beginnings of Tiffany & Co. & the huge amount of work that Charles L. Tiffany & Teddy Young had to manage in order to set the foundations of the Tiffany & Co. we know right now. 

Since the amount of information that I want to share with you all is tremendous, I decided to split the whole "Tiffany experience" in two posts, in this one I'll show you all the pictures I took & maybe one or two captions with fun & interesting deets :)

These were some pictures I took during the Craft Fair organized by Helene Breebart which took place in the Canal Museum. But now I'll show you the photos I took for the Andreina Fonseca catalogue (they've never seen the light).

The Emmys Fashion Nominees

Muchos lo llaman los Oscars de la TV, pero la verdad eso no es de mi interés, lo que si era de mi interés eran las 19 nominaciones que Glee tenía. Para los que no saben, Glee es EL MEJOR TV show ahorita mismo, a mi opinión, y no es de esperarse que sea un gran fan ya que es una serie/musical que es considerada por tener una de las mejores direcciones artísticas de la década al igual que ingeniería en sonido.

Pero como el título lo dice, no estamos aquí para hablar de Glee (aunque me encantaría pasarme horas escribiendo sobre el show), la razón de existencia de este post supongo que es tácita: fashion.

Despite of that, I didn't like the shoes, the dress is too dense to wear black pumps.
