Merry Missoni

Navidad es la época perfecta para tomar Ron Ponche, ver comedias románticas, cenar con los amigos y... comprar. Con todo y que soy de los que profesa la religión del Smart shopping no podemos ignorar que no hay nada mejor que hacernos cariñitos.

Justamente a tiempo, muchas tiendas y marcas han llegado a Panamá, una de esas es MMissoni. Todo lo que tienen es perfecto para ya sea pasar una Navidad de fiesta en fiesta o una Navidad hogareña preparando comidita rica o si estas por lares más fríos simplemente acurrucarte junto a una chimenea y poner Frank Sinatra en el fondo.

Esta semana voy a estar subiendo más outfit posts de lo normal porque quiero mostrarles todo lo que Santa me trajo, igualmente viene bajando THE MCQUEENISMYPAPI CHRISTMAS GUIDE con regalos que escogí y que te recomiendo para que no quedes mal con nadie, quédense pendientes :D

Christmas is always the best season for eggnog sipping, rom-coms, dinner parties and... shopping. Although I profess Smart shopping to everyone, it’s kind of impossible to ignore all the shopping bags around the mall and somehow fall for the trip, luckily a lot of designer brands have arrived to PTY just in time for the merry holidays, MMissoni is one of dem.

I’m loving the variety of pieces they have right now, there’s something for you if all you want to party this season, but if you’re in the mood of just curling up next to a fireplace with Frank Sinatra as soundtrack or maybe just stay home and enjoy the day with family or friends, or lovers ahahha

This week I’m gonna be more active than normal in the blog, not just because I have a lot to show you but a lot to recommend too; coming up is THE MCQUEENISMYPAPI CHRISTMAS GUIDE, a list of items I really want to get but would love even more for you to have (you know, giving is better than receiving and shit), so stay tuned for more :D

El segundo día de nuestro trip en Boston comenzó un poco abrupto. La noche anterior Gerard, Pancho y Fiorella decidimos salir a fiestar a ver como la pasaban los bostonianos, terminamos en un gay bar llamado Cure Lounge que en verdad parecía una fiesta secreta en el sótano de un teatro, con todo y eso la pasamos genial. Al regresar al hotel arreglé todas mis cosas (borracho obviamente) y me fui a dormir, fast-forward a la mañana siguiente, me levanto súper tranquilo y sin apuros ya que nos habían citado en el lobby a las 9.40AM (en mi cabeza, cuando en realidad era a las 8.40), para no alargar el cuento, me dejó la tropa y tuve que agarrar un taxi hacia la fábrica New Balance en 5 South Union Street.

Después de un viajecito de más o menos cuarenta minutos llegué justo a tiempo para el tour por el departamento de diseño y producción en donde aprendimos cómo se diseñan y crean diariamente más de doscientos pares de New Balance al día, incluyendo las personalizadas. Ya que estamos en este tema, el equipo de Nb nos dio la oportunidad de diseñar nuestro propio modelo de zapatillas y como soy un inmenso adicto a lo retro y a los 80s obviamente me fui por algo muy colorido y con denim, muy a lo Culture Club, espero les guste :D

Our second day in Boston started kind of abruptly.  The night before Gerard, Pancho, Fiorella and I decided to get a taste of Boston’s nightlife and ended up at a gay bar called Cure Lounge that was more like a secret party at a theater’s basement, all in all we had a great time that we returned to the hotel at 3AM, weirdly I was able to arrange my outfit for next day (drunk obvs) and went to bed quietly. Fast-forward to the next morning, I woke up happy and relaxed thinking that 9.40AM was the time for us to be at the lobby, well… it was actually at 8.40AM. The troop left me.

Like the independent bitch that I am, I grabbed the bull by the horns and immediately took a taxi to the New Balance factory at 5 South Union Street. Forty minutes later I found myself at the entrance of the factory, just in time for the tour through the Design & Production Departments, where we learned detail by detail how more than 200 pairs of sneakers are done by hand every day, how they’re tested and the new projects New Balance is venturing in. We also had the opportunity to design our own branded New Balance kicks, since I am a hardcore fan of everything retro and 80’s I went for colorful patchwork with denim details, I think Culture Club would totally rock them :D
