The first time I got a glimpse of Desigual was on my first trip to New York, since my sister loves Desigual she literally drag me to a store against my will. The minute I walked into the store I knew that I had to take back those remorse feelings I had when I left the hotel.

For those of you who do not know Desigual was founded by Christian Lacroix & is now a huge part of his company, which filed for bankruptcy some years ago & is now recovering from that issue. It is 25 years old & despite the difficult economy in Europe it is considered done of the most fruitful companies in out of Spain.

For some reason, I have a special link with Desigual & New York, because Little did I know that the first store of Desigual opened its first Panama store while I was in New York.

I love how the name of the Brand represents the soul of their designs; they are all Desigual (which in spanish means “not the same”). The cuts, the mixture of prints, the colors & textures will make you “not the same” from the guy/girl next to you, like Miroslava.

For me Miroslava epitomizes being different, Desigual, “not the same” so I asked her to go pick three outfits that really represented her with the only instruction of mixing as much prints as she could in one outfit, since print blocking is one hot trend this season & what outfits did she make!

La primera vez que supe de Desigual fue en mi primer viaje a New York con mi hermana, ella literalmente me arrastró a una de las tiendas. El momento en que entré entendí la razón de su fascinación.

Para los que no saben, Desigual fue fundada por Christian Lacroix, cuya compañía cayó en bancarrota hace ya algunos años y está ahora recuperándose con la ayuda de Desigual. Ya con 25 años, Desigual es considerada una de las compañías españolas más fructíferas.

Y pareciera que Desigual, yo y New York tenemos una conexión especial porque fue mientras estaba en New York Fashion Week que la primera tienda de Desigual tuvo su gran apertura en Multicentro.

Algo que amo con locura de Desigual es como su nombre combina perfectamente con sus diseños y con el alma de la marca. Su ropa es tan diferente y ecléctica que inmediatamente eres Desigual a los demás. Asi como Miroslava.

Miroslava para mí es el epítome de la desigualdad en cuanto a estilo y a personalidad, por eso aproveché y le pedí que escogiera tres looks totalmente Miroslava y Desigual. La única instrucción que le dí fue la de que mezclara la mayor cantidad de prints dentro de un block porque es la tendencia guay en estos momentos y a mi me encanta!
