How To Be a Karaoke King/Queen

“I love karaoke but my singing sucks,” this is maybe one of those sentences that describe the life of many, including me. As the son of two artists the nights at the theatre were a recurrent thing since I was a child, those same family outings were the birthplace of my always-growing passion for everything onstage.

But sometimes really wanting something is not enough. Unfortunately, nature gave me a lot of talents but none of them is singing skills. That being said, Asians created a place for all of us renegades who lack the voice but thrive for the spotlight of being a rock star; Karaoke is one of those genius creations that were brought to life to feed our need to face an audience, feel the warm of the light on our skin, evoke the melodies of our favorite songs (although the word “off-key” is a constant adjective in the performances of the Karaoke Kings/Queens) and be the Stacee Jaxx (Rock of Ages reference) we all are in the secrecy of our rooms … or showers.
