How To Serve Face

So, miles y miles de veces mis amigos me preguntan por qué me demoro tanto en alistarme antes de cada salida, digo, no creo que sea pecado dedicarme una o dos horas pero si, me gusta dedicarme bastante tiempo.  

Recientemente me ha dado la Eva Chen y he comenzado a probar cremas y tratamientos para mejorarme y a la vez poder recomendarles los más efectivos para que también le saquen el mayor potencial a su piel y a sus ya lindas caras, en el proceso he aprendido muchas cosas como que no debemos mezclar productos porque será muy difícil ver los resultados como deben ser y muchas otras cosas que más adelante les contaré; aquí les paso lo que se ha convertido en mi “régimen” de cuidado de la piel:

So, I’ve been asked more than a thousand times why does it take me so long to prep before going out with my friends or just for anything, I mean, I don’t think it’s a sin to dedicate one or two hours to your face but sometimes you do need to cut the line in order to be on time.

Recently I’ve been Eva Chen-ing and started to try different grooming and skincare products to improve myself and help you do you. In the process of this arduous labor, I’ve acknowledge a lot of beauty shortcuts that we’re gonna be talking about later on but for this first post I really wanted to share with you what is now my “beauty regimen”:

1- GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD CLEAN TREATMENT

Es el primer paso de la rutina de Glamglow, que sinceramente es lo máximo. Una marca que inició siendo utilizada en los backstage de Hollywood y luego llegó a las manos del público.

El Supermud Clean Treatment prepara la cara dándole un Keeling fresco por su eucalipto. Ayuda a restaurar la piel dañada por el sol y mejora su textura, minimiza los poros y ayuda a humectar la pigmentación y estimula el colágeno ya existente en la piel.

Es súper fácil de usar, simplemente te aplicas un poquito hasta crear una capa delgada y te dejas la mascarilla por unos 20min y luego te la quitas con agua fría.

The modus operandi is easier than opening a beer, simply apply a thin layer to clear skin, leave on from 5 to 20 minutes and then remove with cold water

2- GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD TINGLEXFOLIATE TREATMENT

Originalmente diseñado como un “facial express” de diez minutos utilizado en las producciones de Hollywood, este tarrito es la mejor forma de exfoliar la piel en tu propio baño, lo mejor es que de verdad sientes como la mascarilla hace efecto hasta el punto que es visible con tan solo aplicarla. Deja la piel súper suave, más brillante y suave.

3- GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD HYDRATING TREATMENT

Esta ha sido la última adición a mi rutina y sinceramente la amo. Sirve como una hidratación intensa (y cuando digo intensa hablo en serio) porque usa una tecnología activa de la que no recuerdo el nombre pero que sirve a corto, mediano y largo plazo. Lo más cool es que es genial para cuando nos afeitamos ya que calma la irritación y deja la piel justo como estaba. Utilícenla de dos a tres veces por la semana, ya sea de día o de noche, se la pueden quitar con agua, con un Kleenex o si se aplican la cantidad justa se lo pueden dejar en la cara, cuello y hombros por todo el día.

This has been my latest acquisition and I really love it. It works as a intense, extreme hydration (and I’m using those adjectives wisely) thanks to a technology whose name I forgot but assures short, medium and long-term effects. For us guys it’s awesome for after shaving ‘cause it calms irritation and leaves skin just as it was before. My recommendation is to use it twice or thrice per week, it can be used during the day or night, a tip is to apply just the right amount so you can leave it on all day, just don’t ever forget the sunblock.





4- NATIVO SKINCARE LIP BALM
Hace un tiempo les presenté una marca panameña de cuidado de piel tanto para hombres como para mujeres (refresca tu memoria aquí), desde un principio la filosofía de isabella, creadora de la marca, ha sido utilizar los ingredientes más nobles para crear productos hechos con amor y este lip balm es la prueba perfecta. Por mucho tiempo he tratado de encontrar el perfecto y en serio lo encontré. Lo que más me gusta es que tiene grumos que exfolian los labios y con una sola pasada por el labio inferior basta, si no lo prueban la verdad es que no saben de lo que se pierden. Les recomiendo el de Spearmint!

A while ago I introduced you to a Panamanian skincare brand for guys and girls (refresh that memory here), since the very first day Isabella’s (the creator) philosophy has put noble ingredients and authentic love in the making of the products on the cover of the brand’s identity, this lip balm is the perfect example. 

For a long time I’ve tried so many lip balms in the search of that perfect one and I’m not lying when I tell you I think I may have founded it. What I like the most about it is that it comes with little scrubs in it so it immediately exfoliates the lips for a perfect finishing, you just have to apply it one to your lower lip and that’s about it. 5- KIEHL’S EPIDERMAL RE-TEXTURIZING MICRODERMOABRASION

Al verlo por primera vez sinceramente no me llamó nada la atención probarlo pero le di la oportunidad una vez y no me arrepiento. Mensualmente voy a The Beauty Spot by Mela Piedrahita a hacerme faciales profundos y microdermoabrasiones pero todavía quedan veintinueve días en los que tienes que mantener el cuidado y este tratamiento llena los requisitos.

Te aplicas un poco a la piel húmeda y te haces un scrub en forma circular, te lavas la cara con agua fría y en serio sentirás la textura de tu piel cambiar para lo mejor en seguida, úsala tres veces a la semana y verás como se minimiza el tamaño de marcas, poros y cicatrices. La mejor parte es que este tratamiento sirve como catalizador ya que con el uso ayudará a tu piel a asimilar mejor otros tratamientos.

The first time I saw the little I was seriously not excited to try it but I gave it a chance and I don’t regret it. Monthly I go to El Beauty Spot by Mela Piedrahita to get deep facials and micro-dermoabrasions but we still got twenty-nine days to take care of our faces so I was really happy when I realized I had found a great substitute.

Just apply a nice amount on a damp face a play with it as a scrub in circle movements, I assure you that after cleaning your face with cold water you’ll immediately recognize the difference of the skin’s texture, and if you use it thrice a week for a period of time it’ll hide marks and scars, and will reduce the size of pores. The best thing is that after your skin is comfortable with it it’ll work as a catalyzer so other products will have better effect on your face thank to this treatment.

6- CLINIQUE’S EVEN BETTER CLINICAL DARK SPOT CORRECTOR

Buscar información sobre este producto para este post me ha hecho amarlo mucho más pues me enteré que en un lapso de doce semanas el tono de mi piel puede ecualizarse en un 58%. Siendo de la escuela que se enteró tarde del uso del protector solar a diario, el Sol ha dejado algunas marcas en mi cutis pero este tratamiento, con digamos el mes y medio que llevo usándolo ya ha hecho cambios en mí. Lo puedes usar diariamente.

Para estas alturas me imagino que ya se han dado cuenta que mi cutis es algo grasoso y la verdad no tengo vergüenza de admitirlo. Gran ayuda llegó entonces con este tubito verde de Kiehl’s (@kiehlspanama) porque brinda una sensación de refrescamiento tan rica y que a la vez absorbe sudor y la grasa de la superficie de la piel. Después de cierto tiempo usándolo también me he dado cuenta que reduce la apariencia de mis poros y me deja la piel súper suave e hidratada, aparte que es libre de parabén, sulfato y hasta glúten, así que es un producto perfecto para todos los hipsters wannabe.

By this time I’m pretty sure you’ve notice that my skin-type is very oily. It was a huge help then when I met this little Green tuve from Kiehl’s (@kiehlspanama) because it provides an out-of-this-world clean-skin feel by absorbing sweat and surface oil. It also reduces visible the appereance of the pores, leaving skin soft and hydrated. And you you wannabe hipsters, it is oil-free, paraben-free, sulffate-free and gluten-free #jk.
